Elementor Save or Publish Button Disappeared
After recent updates, some people who have conflicting theme or plugins settings found that the Update or Publish buttons disappeared when using their Elementor Editor.
What Happened?
During the update, one of the things which may have happened was a default or activated setting may have changed during the Elemento update that caused Elementor to start using the top bar for the placement of the Publish and Update settings bar. For some themes, this isn’t compatible and it cuases that button to hide!
Not helpful when making updates to your site. Although I did find you could hit the keyboard short cut (CTRL ‘S’/CMD ‘S’) and get it to save and then you’d have to return to the default WordPress editor in order to publish a new post or page. Super confusing! And kind of a carp shoot to rely on auto-save features to get the work done.
Anyhow, after a couple hours of troubleshooting and searching around the interwebs, I finally found you a fix:
Find the Features Tab
Under Elementor Settings
Head over to your WordPress dashboard—>Elementor—>Settings and look under the Features Tab.
- Scroll down the Features Tab almost to the bottom and find “Editor Top Bar”
- Switch this drop down menu setting from Default or Active to be INACTIVE
- Click Save at the bottom
That’s it! Now your Update/Publish button will be back in the place you’re accustomed to seeing them before the update to Elementor.
